Charlie Cavell, Executive Director
A 20 year old Senior at Wayne, Charlie studies Social Work so that he may fulfill his passion: helping people. For example: this past summer Charlie taught Summer School on Detroit's west side, led a petition drive to successfully begin demolishing 15 abandoned buildings, had an op-ed piece published in the Detroit Free Press and was elected Vice President of the Loving Elementary School Board! Through his versatile advocacy Charlie keeps busy!
After moving several times in his youth, he found a permanent home with Jim Cogswell and Sarah Stitt. His brother David attends Oberlin College, studying Japenese and his sister Katherine currently lives in Oregon. Upon graduating from Ann Arbor Pioneer High School in 2008, Charlie quickly moved to Detroit to work with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps prior to attending Wayne State University. Charlie plans to continue to try to provide opportunity in the ways he can best effect change where needed!

Andrea Roelofs, Director of Operations
Andrea Roelofs joined the Pay it Forward Initiative team in October 2010. She is responsible for the interns we serve, assisting in recruitment and intern management. In addition Andrea develops and maintains relationships with our non-profit partners.
Andrea moved to Detroit in June 2010 from Grand Rapids, MI to attend Wayne State School of Social Work. She is now a senior at Wayne State. Living and going to school in the area she immediately knew she wanted to promote the communities well-being. She meet Charlie at school and started helping make Pay it Forward Initiative a reality. Things have taken off from there! In addition to going to school and PIF Andrea works with children that have autism spectrum disorders. Although this work is often challenging she enjoys it very much. Andrea has a passion for working to promote the well-being of individuals and the community at large.
